A globe of where it grows
Open a species and tap native range. The globe fills the screen. Warmer colors mark where the species is spotted more often in the wild; dimmer land is where it is not.
A pin marks your household, so you can see home against that range. The sheet under the globe names the plant, then opens into countries grouped by continent.
The range comes from iNaturalist and stays with the species. Spinning the globe does not fetch a new map from the internet.
Filter and sort the catalog
The same range is a country list with flags, grouped by continent. Filter the catalog by one or more countries and keep species that grow wild in any of them.
Sort by how widespread a species is — most countries first — when you want plants that show up across climates.
Once Planti knows your household’s country, the catalog also shows a row of species native there.
From the wild to your shelf
Range is context, not a watering schedule. A plant from a warm range can still live on a cool windowsill if light and water match the species database.
After plant identification, the match can open the same globe, so a name comes with a map.
Save it to your plant collection when you are ready. The range stays on the species; care still lives on the pot.
