Identify plant diseases from a photo
Yellow spots, sticky residue, weird webbing? Open Planti, photograph the problem, and get disease suggestions from our catalog. Confirm a match, read symptoms and causes, and keep the episode on the plant so you remember what you treated.
Free to download. Optional premium features available.
How disease ID works
Point the camera at the damaged leaf, stem, or pest you can see. Planti sends the photo to our identifier and returns likely matches from the disease catalog — pests, fungi, and common houseplant problems, not a random web search.
Each suggestion includes a confidence signal so you can compare lookalikes. Pick the best match, or try a second photo if the first shot was dark, blurry, or cropped too tight.
You stay in control: nothing lands on a plant until you confirm. That keeps plant health tracking history honest when you later start an episode.
From match to care on the plant
A confirmed disease opens symptoms, possible causes, and treatment guidance from the same catalog you browse in the app. Identification is the on-ramp — the details live with the rest of Planti.
Start an episode on a plant in your plant collection so the issue sits next to watering and health check-ins. In a shared household, everyone sees the same problem instead of guessing from a group chat photo.
Pair it with plant identification when you are not sure of the species. A correct name plus a disease match beats two separate mystery searches.
Tips and honest limits
Use daylight on the real damage, not only the pot. Include scale insects, webbing, or spots up close when you can. Avoid heavy filters.
A new photo needs a network connection. After you save the match, you can browse details and manage plants offline; logs sync when you are back online.
Planti is a plant care app with a built-in disease identifier, not a lab. Treat suggestions as a strong starting point, then confirm against the plant in front of you.
